The 12-member boy group KO1KEYZ, formed through PRODUCE 101 JAPAN SHINSEKAI, made a commanding entrance with their self-titled debut single by topping the Billboard Japan Hot 100 dated October 14.

Released simultaneously in Japan and South Korea on October 7, "KO1KEYZ" moved roughly 525,000 physical copies in its first week while radio airplay and music-video views carried it to the summit of the national chart. The group also claimed the No. 1 position on Oricon's weekly singles ranking.

Built on a fresh, 1990s-inspired pop sensibility, the title track frames the flutter of a first meeting around the group's "key" motif — the members chose the name with the ambition of becoming a key that opens hearts around the world.
