Ikimono-gakari Celebrate 20th Debut Anniversary with New Single "Sayonara Lara", OP for Anime Goodbye, Lara

Legendary J-Pop duo Ikimono-gakari released their latest single "Sayonara Lara" (Goodbye Lara) as the opening theme for the original TV anime Goodbye, Lara. The release also marks a special milestone, coinciding with the celebration of Ikimono-gakari's 20th major-label debut anniversary, which began with the single "SAKURA" on March 15, 2006.

The song draws inspiration from the anime's story, which centers on the courage to choose one's own path in life, accepting both meetings and farewells, and continuing to move forward despite an uncertain future. The official music video was released on July 15, 2026 at 9:00 PM JST.

The physical "Sayonara Lara" single is scheduled for CD release on August 26, 2026, available in both regular and limited editions, the latter including a bonus Blu-ray with the music video and behind-the-scenes footage.
